Excel & Google Sheets

Free trading journal template

Start your journal with a free CSV that works in Excel and Google Sheets. No account needed.

What the columns mean

  • Date / Account: Trade date and account name.
  • Symbol / Direction: Instrument and Buy or Sell side.
  • Lot size: Position size in lots.
  • Entry price / Exit price: Opening and closing prices.
  • Stop loss / Take profit: Planned risk and target prices.
  • Result (USD): Profit or loss in USD.
  • Setup: The pattern or conditions behind the trade.
  • Emotion: How you felt while trading.
  • Notes: Observations and lessons to review.

How to use it in Excel or Google Sheets

  1. Download the CSV above.
  2. In Excel, choose File → Open to open the CSV, or use the Text/CSV data import option. In Google Sheets, choose File → Import and upload the file.
  3. Delete the two fake example rows before adding your trades. They are sample data, not real trading results.
  4. Record one trade per row, then review your setups, results, and emotions regularly.

Tired of typing every row? intent: trade builds the journal from your broker screenshots.
